Democratic Representative Ms Brenda Lawrence (Michigan) was filmed playing the smartphone game Candy Crush during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech.
The Southfield Democrat got caught in the act by a photographer during the one-hour, 20-minute address.
Ms Lawrence was one of the people, together with her fellow Congressional Black Caucus members, who decided to wear traditional West African kente clothes to the State of The Union in order to show solidarity with African countries which the Democrats allege President Trump referred to as “sh–hole countries” during a heated DACA debate.

When asked for a reaction to the photo, Ms Lawrence, who is currently serving her second term, explained that she decided to play the game because she felt ‘disconnected from Trump’s message.’

After the SOTU, she stated to the Detroit News: “When you know his policies and the things he has said and the disrespect, I cannot connect the words to the person standing there.”
“He kept talking about us as Americans. I don’t feel like I’m his America. I’ve been feeling that way for a long time.”
She also criticized the President for making remarks about immigrants involved in the MS-13 gang.
“We heard so much about that, but he didn’t say one thing about crime in America – how urban cities are dealing with so much crime.”
“America First? Where’s your plan to deal with overall crime? I want to protect the borders. I want America safe. But I can tell you, if you wipe out this gang you still have a crime problem in America.”
It is good to know your tax dollars are being spent wisely of course. We hope she at least passed a few ‘Candy Crush’ levels during the SOTU.

But was quick to the TV Mic afterwards to whine about TRUMP and the SOTU address……. she did not even listen to.
