Sid Miller, TX: Dems As Upset As When ‘Lincoln Freed The Slaves’

Mr Sid Miller, the controversial Texas Agriculture Commissioner, caused a firestorm on Twitter when he compared the possible release of the highly anticipated FISA Memo to the freeing of slaves.

His tweet read: "Democrats haven't been this upset over Republicans releasing something since Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves."

You will recall that the memo he refers to is the one written by Representative Devin Nunes of California and his House Intelligence Committee. The contents haven't been released just yet, but it appears to be outlining allegations of FBI missteps in the investigation into accusations that members of the White House Administration might have colluded with Russia in influencing the 2016 Presidential election.

Mr Miller is always controversial in his tweets. Back in 2016 he used a vulgar term (starting with a ‘c’) to describe Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016, stating that his account had been hacked. He has also joked about bringing peace to the Muslim world by the usage of nuclear weapons.

The reaction from the internet to his latest tweet was swift and furious:

- "Can't wait until you don't represent my state anymore."

- "Try to keep up, Sid. Those Democrats during the Civil War later became the Republican Party, the very people who vote for you."

- "Come on Down to Aggieland for a Semester and we'll get you into US History I and II and US Political History and we'll address the gaps in your education. Your HW before class is to research the Republican Southern Strategy of Richard Nixon."

There were some offering support as well though.

- "Keep up the good work, the dems are super [expletive] about this, freedom of speech right, till they don't like what you say! I wish the dems would just start trying to work with us!!!".
