Law enforcement sources reveal to entertainment media that Glee actor Mark Salling tried to kill himself multiple times before he took his own life.
The same sources involved in the probe of the 35-year-old actor’s shocking death also say their interviews with witnesses paint a dark picture of the celebrity.
Salling, before he committed suicide, was facing years in prison after pleading guilty to child porn charges.
Prior to his death, Salling has attempted several times before to take his own life. He cut his wrists back in August last year. The actor was said to have freaked out, however, afte the suicide attempt and screamed for his roommate in his L.A. area home. The roommate discovered Salling bleeding and called 911.
Paramedics rushed to Salling’s house where they treated the actor, put him in an ambulance and brought him to a hospital.
Entertainment site TMZ which broke the story even showed a photo of the actor wearing a long sleeves dark shirt in the middle of a heat wave only two months after his suicide attempt. His choice for the top could presumably be due to his desire to hide the scars sustained from the deliberate wrist cut.
TMZ also reported that Salling was taken for psychiatric evaluation, and was transferred only days later to a rehab facility for psychological issues.
Salling committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree. His body was found bearing a riverbed in Sunland, the same area where he lived.
Investigators found more than 50,000 images of child porn and child erotica on his personal computer. The prosecution recommended 4 to 7 years in prison under the plea deal.
