A woman in Walton County, Georgia is being hailed as a hero for saving a 9-year-old boy's life after three pit bulls jumped a fence and attacked him.
The 9-year-old boy had moments to live as the three pit bulls brutally attacked his face until a neighbor saw what was happening and jumped to the rescue. Svetlana Reut was somehow able to pull the vicious dogs off of him and by putting herself in harm's way.
"I pushed the dogs away, I managed to get them off of his face," Reut explained. Police say the owner of the dogs finally showed up and got control of the pit bulls.
The boy suffered serious injuries to his face and was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. Loganville city spokesperson Robbie Schwart said, "He had severe lacerations to the face and to his neck."

As a result of her heroic actions, Reut was also hospitalized with severe injuries. "They gnawed on my face here. They nicked my tooth here, I had to get braces. This was a pretty deep wound," Reut said.
"My thing was just to save him, that was a lot more important," she explained. The boy had to undergo plastic surgery for severe wounds to his face and neck. The boy's family said he is recovering but asks for privacy during this difficult time.
Authorities have not charged the dog's owner. Schwartz said, "He’s been very cooperative. He has cooperated with animal control."
