A massive search is underway Monday for a suspect considered highly dangerous and on the run after killing a Pierce County sheriff deputy who was responding to a burglary.
Authorities say they have now arrested the suspect in the fatal shooting of deputy Daniel McCartney, 34, who was shot while chasing a suspect in the town of Frederickson.
It seems McCartney exchanged fire with two burglary suspects, he struck one killing him before being shot and killed himself. The remaining suspect was later arrested on an outstanding warrant leaving the scene and become a suspect in McCartney's killing.
Pierce County Sheriff's Office spokesman Detective Ed Troyer said Monday afternoon in a press release, "We know we've got our two main people. One was killed and the other is in custody."

Authorities cut off all escape roads in the area and ran an extensive manhunt for the last living suspect in wooded areas and industrial sites. The second suspect had a felony warrant and investigators were able to tie him to the killing of McCartney.
