#Breaking: 4.4 Magnitude Earthquake ROCKS San Francisco Bay Area

Residents in the San Francisco Bay area of California awakened today to a violent roaring caused by a 4.4 magnitude earthquake in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Reports suggest that the earthquake was centered along the Oakland-Berkeley borders, just a few miles north of the Claremont Spa & Club Hotel in Berkeley, California.

The earthquake and its tremors could be felt all across the region, but was brief at around an estimated ten seconds in length.

Several customers awaiting flights near the San Francisco International Airport said that jolts from the quake could be felt in beneath their feet as they were waiting for takeoffs and arrivals.

The United States Geological Survey said the quake was of magnitude 4.4, as reports confirmed, and that its epicenter was at a depth of 8 miles, just to the southeast of Berkeley’s main residential neighborhoods.

The fault line runs begins in San Pablo Bay in the North, to Fremont in the south, passing through the cities of Berkeley, Oakland, Hayward, Fremont and several others.

Multiple residents said that it felt as of the quake was stronger than a 4.4 magnitude, with some suggesting that had not felt such power in decades.

The United States Geological Survey website says people reported feeling the quake 40 miles (64 kilometers) south of San Jose.

As of this time, there's not reported fatalities or injuries, and whether there was any structural damage remains to be determined.

Stay safe Bay Area.
