Ex-Employee Shoots Two Houston Mechanic Shop Workers; Kills Self

A shooting incident took place at a mechanic shop in southwest Houston that killed three people Friday afternoon.

Police have confirmed the shooting that happened at around 4:10 p.m. in the 14000 block of South Post Oak. They described the crime as a “senseless workplace violence.”

The officers said a former employee of the Bemer Shop just walked inside and shot two employees to death. The authorities also said that the gunman shot himself next.

Houston police are still investigating the matter. It is not yet known if any other employees were hurt from the incident. Local reports said, however, that multiple people were inside the shop at that time including other employees and customers.

The gunman and his victims have yet to be released by the authorities. The families may not have been informed yet of the tragedy. It is not established yet the motive of the killer if he has a resentment issue with his co-workers or the store. It is also not yet known if he was struggling with mental issues prior to the shooting.

Houston police chief Art Acevedo asked for prayers for the victims’ as well as the deceased gunman’s families. He referred to the incident as an apparent “double murder and suspect suicide.”
