Police say they were booking Nicole Hunter on Christmas day when she pulled out a wrapper with cocaine in it from inside her clothing and tried to snort it.

Hunter was being booked on unrelated charges when she tried to snort the cocaine which resulted in her also being charged with possession of narcotics, interfering with an officer and disorderly conduct.

Police initially arrested Hunter after they confronted her at her home in Ledyard while investigating a report of a person driving erratically. They questioned Hunter when they found the vehicle in her driveway matched the one described in the report.

Hunter was in the waiting area of the police station when she pulled out the drugs and tried to use them. She is scheduled to appear in court on January 8.
