Ms Sherra Wright Robinson, the ex-wife of murdered NBA player Lorenzen Wright who fathered 6 children with her, has now been formally accused of the murder of her former husband, who died in 2010. According to the first reports, Ms Wright hired a man to shoot her husband.

For seven years the homicide of Mr Lorenzen Wright, player of the LA Clippers, remained unsolved. Until police revealed at a news conference this week that his ex-wife had been arrested together with another man for his murder.

The investigation, dubbed ‘operation rebound’, came to a conclusion with this statement: “The ex-wife of slain former NBA player Lorenzen Wright has been arrested in California in his death and charged with conspiracy, first-degree murder and criminal attempt first degree murder.”

According to the investigative officers, the attempted murder charge is a prior attempt to kill Lorenzen Wright. They said Sherra and a man named Billy Turner previously tried to kill Mr Wright.

Back in 2015, Sports Illustrated interviewed Ms Wright about the murder, and asked her if she had killed her husband. Already then it was strange that she didn’t simply say ‘no’.

The last sign of life of Mr Lorenzen Wright was on the recording of a chilling 911 call he made from the scene. “God damn,” he said, as gunfire was heard. His body was discovered 10 days later and was riddled with bullets from guns of different calibers.

Then in 2017, police got their big break when they found the murder weapon in a lake about 75 miles southeast of Memphis in Walnut, Mississippi.

Memphis police Director, Mr Michael Rallings said at the news conference: “The Lorenzen Wright case has stayed in the public eye for many years, and we’ve never given up hope that we would be able to bring the responsible parties to justice… another piece of the puzzle is in place.”
