Trump And Putin Call On North Korea

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave his annual marathon press conference yesterday, at which thousands of international reporters can ask him questions for several hours which he responds in a very direct manner. No topic, except for Mr Puttin’s private life, remains untouched.

During the session, he had some very kind words for US President Trump's handling of the US economy. Mr Putin noted that the recent US stock market performance “speaks of investor confidence in the U.S. economy, which means that they trust what President Trump is doing.”

When asked about the investigation into Russian meddling, the Kremlin leader added that this was “invented by people who are in opposition to Trump to characterize his work as illegitimate.”

He lastly stated that he could not understand why special counsel Robert Mueller was investigating contacts with Russian Ambassador Kislyak, stating: “this is a world-wide practice, when a diplomatic representative and even members of government meet with all the candidates, with all their teams. They want to understand what people will do if they come to power and how to react to it.”
