Anti-Trump Liberals Throw Tantrums by Refusing to Pay Taxes

After staging protests, marches and riots, leftists are now planning to commit tax evasions to show their defiance against President Donald Trump. Since this, like many of their protest activities, is considered illegal, these liberals could end up facing fines or even jail time if they continue to avoid paying their taxes.

Ever since Trump won the election in November last year, liberals have been resorting to various types of protests to show their disdain for the new administration. Instead of working with the new government for the betterment of the country, many of these people have chosen to resort to dirty tactics to defy Trump.

However, since none of their actions worked, it seems liberals have concocted a different way to protest, which is essentially refusing to pay their taxes. One if these individuals, Andrew Newman, an associate professor at Long Island’s Stony Brook University, said he will not pay his federal income tax because he doesn’t support the current administration’s policies.

Actress Mia Farrow and journalist Gloria Steinem also expressed their interest in joining the anti-tax movement. She said she will follow in the footsteps of Henry David Thoreau, who was imprisoned in 1856 for refusing to pay taxes that were used for wars.

“In 1968, we refused to pay the 10% tax of our federal income tax dollars that funded the war in Vietnam, and included a letter to the IRS saying so,” she told The Guardian. “In February before tax time on March 15, 500 or so of us listed our names in ads that we published in the New York Times, together with a quote from Thoreau on civil disobedience, and an invitation to join us.”

Steinem added instead of paying for federal income tax, she will use the money to fund Planned Parenthood instead.

This theatrical defiance coming from the left is another example of just how intolerant and selfish liberals can be. Instead of contributing to the taxes collected by the government that will be used for programs that would benefit the general public, these people would rather stage another protest just because their presidential bid didn’t win.

But, what many of these liberals fail to realize that by refusing to pay taxes, they could end up getting penalized by the government, either through the form of fines or jail time.
