Police have confirmed that the terrorist who detonated a pipe bomb this morning at the Port Authority Bus station in New York this morning has been arrested. Though no name has so far been provided, it is understood that the 27-year-old man, known as Ullah Akayed, hails from Bangladesh and was living in Brooklyn.
He seems to have been inspired by ISIS and had brought a pipe bomb with him which he wanted to explode either on a bus or a metro. Fortunately for the New Yorkers his homemade device injured only himself as it went off prematurely.

The man was walking through the Manhattan transit hub with wires attached to his own body as well as a 5-inch metal pipe bomb and battery pack strapped to his waist
He was able to only partially detonate the device carried under the right side of his jacket at around 7.40am this morning.
Police have now taken the man into custody.
His actions caused an immediate evacuation of the area.
The former Police Commissioner, Mr Bill Bratton gave more information to the press, confirming only that the man was inspired by ISIS and possibly born in Bangladesh. The guy had apparently been living in the US for seven years, and “was supposedly setting the device off in the name of ISIS.”
“So, definitely a terrorist attack, definitely intended,” Mr Bratton commented.
The Port Authority Bus Terminal, where the bombing took place, is the largest in the US, and it handles well over 65 million people a year. The Times Square-42nd Street subway station complex is located right underneath the transport hub. It seems the terrorist was intent on wounding and killing as many as possible.
