Trump’s Administration Delivers The Senate 'Torture Report' To U.S. Federal Court

President Trump’s administration has made it clear that it delivered the Senate Torture Report that highlighted the Central Intelligence Agency’s secret prison network to a U.S. Federal district that’s based in Washington D.C.

Trump’s administration sent a copy of the report that Obama administration claimed to have delivered to the Department of Justice Office of Legislative Affairs.

The acting assistant Attorney General Chad A. Readler notified the court that the government deposited for the Court Information Security Officers for secure storage and a complete and un-redacted electronic copy of the Senate Select Committee on the Intelligence Committee Study of the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program.

Two victims of unlawful detention have been in Guantanamo Bay for years yet they have not been charged with a crime, Nashiri and Zubaydah were captured in a raid that took place in Pakistan 15 years ago, the two were charged in a military commission with planning the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, a U.S. Navy Ship, there were also other terrorism related offenses that both men were charged with.

Following their arrest in 2002, both men have been held in a CIA black site where they’ve been tortured for years before being transferred to Guantanamo Bay back in 2006.

The Khaldan camp was run by Zubaydah, the camp is a mujahideen training facility that was set up in Afghanistan with the help of the CIA DURING THE Soviet occupation. It’s unfortunate that both men are being tried for the death penalty despite the lack of legal basis.

The report constituted admission from the CIA that is subjected Nashiri, Zubaydah ,and others to waterboarding among other harsh human rights violations at the facility and various black sites.

The unfortunate violation of human rights and other torture techniques were employed even during George W. Bush administration after which Obama took office. However, shortly after Obama got into office, Senate compiled its infamous torture report, Obama refused to turn copies to any court.

Nashiri’s lawyer pointed out that Judge Royce Lamberth emphasized that the failure to comply with his order was going to be dealt with harshly. During Zubaydah’s hearing, a national security team associate pointed out that since Zubaydah has been held for a long time without charge, the case ought to be considered as a serious problem, adding that a number of detainees at Guantanamo have the same problem.

The 6,700-page Senate Torture report documents abuses that have been carried out in the CIA program involving extreme torture techniques such as waterboarding, force feeding, rectal abuse and other psychological torture techniques such as sleep deprivation, high decibel music, and sexual violence.

In a move aimed at covering up the report, the CIA hacked the computers of Senate committee that was responsible for its oversight. An apology was later issued by the agency as it later accidentally - destroyed the documents involving its torture practices.

In protest of the methods that were used on Zubaydah, the FBI agents were very angry and one of the agents threatened to arrest the CIA interrogators. One of the former Guantanamo Bay guard spoke out claiming that the CIA murdered detainees and covered it up as triple suicide cases.
