Charlie Sheen Sues For Defamation Over Claim He Raped Corey Haim

The former 'Two And A Half Men' star has filed a lawsuit against the tabloid Enquirer, its editor-in-chief Dylan Howard, and actor Dominick Brascia on Friday. The lawsuit is in response to an Enquirer article published last month that accused Sheen of raping Corey Haim on an 80's film set.

The article said Sheen and Haim were on the set of the 1986 film 'Lucas' when even Corey Haim's own mother has publicly and categorically denied the claim of any sexual encounter between the 52-year-old actor and her son. The lawsuit is suing for defamation and false light, and it asks for an unlimited sum of monetary and punitive damages as well as recovery of attorney fees.

Court documents reveal Sheen's attorneys claim Howard ran the story about Sheen "because of a personal vendetta that arose after he was unable to be the first to break the story that Mr. Sheen was HIV positive." Sheen also names Brasica in the lawsuit who went on record with the sexual assault allegations in the Enquirer article, his attorney describes her as not being a "reliable source nor credible."

Also noted in the court documents is the fact that "Haim's own mother has publicly and categorically denied that any sort of sexual rendezvous occurred" between the actor and her son. Corey Haim died of pneumonia in 2010 and his mother insists the story published in the Enquirer "was all made up."
