Texas is a hotbed of both crime and criminal activity, in part due to heavy gang activity and an involvement of street thugs who are so vicious that law enforcement is afraid to pursue them in many cases.
Sometimes, innocent people lose their lives due to the actions of the criminal thugs, and that's exactly what Police say happened in Beaumont, Texas, after a woman who was pregnant just happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
19-year-old old Kera Teel was 7 months pregnant, and excited as she had her whole life as a mother ahead of her.

This past summer however, she just so happened to be in the parking lot of the Siena Trails Apartments leaving a relative’s apartment when she suddenly noticed three men approaching her car, one of whom had a white cloth over his face as he tried to grab her door to open it.
She locked her car, frantic, but was afraid to speed away because one of the men was blocking her from leaving, and she didn't want to hit him.
The masked man demanded she open her door to which she refused repeatedly, and he then attempted to force it open.
She struggled to pull it shut when the man then shot her, seven months pregnant and all, and fled the scene with the other men.
For several months Police searched for the culprits, with no answers.
Later they would capture 15-year-old Johnny Phifer, on an unrelated charge, according to<a href="http://www.12newsnow.com/mobile/article/news/crime/second-suspect-in-capital-murder-of-beaumont-mother-newborn-baby-turns-self-in-at-jail/449162035">12 News Now</a>, who then confessed to the murder.
He later told detectives the entire incident, and the names of the other suspects were given to law enforcement.
This information then gave Police the full storyline to prompt them to also arrest 22-year-old Dustin Bernard in the case.
According to the affidavit, autopsies revealed that Kera died from gunshot wounds to her upper body, and Kyndal, the unborn child, “died as a result of her mother dying.”
Bernard allegedly drove Phifer and another 15-year-old, who is in police custody but has not yet been certified to stand trial as an adult, to Sienna Trails apartments in his black BMW, planning to burglarize cars and rob people that night, the affidavit states.
Phifer told police that the other minor, wearing a white cloth over his face, tried to open Teel's car door.
When she refused to open the door, he forcibly opened it and shot her, Phifer said. He told police that he and Bernard witnessed the shooting and that all three fled in the BMW to another location, where they attempted to rob another person,
Both suspects were then charged with the homicide, and an additional capital murder charge for the unborn child, with the 15-year-old being, tried as an adult.
The third suspect has yet to be charged, but authorities expect to file charges soon, according to<a href="http://kfdm.com/news/local/three-suspects-in-beaumont-to-be-charged-with-attempted-capital-murder">KDFM</a>.

This innocent girl has her entire life cut short all over a few savage thugs who would rather kill and rob than work.
Her child will never grow up. She will never see tomorrow. Her family will forever miss her.
Disgusting.
Each of the suspects is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail on bonds totaling $2.5 million, but they're still alive, something that Kara Teel and her daughter will never have an opportunity to do, live.
