Pizza Hut Testing Beer And Wine Delivery

Pizza Hut is testing a new service that will provide alcoholic beverages with your delivery order. The pizza chain has started delivering beer and wine to certain cities as a testing run.

Stacy Lynn Bourgeois, Pizza Hut's director of brand marketing, said in an interview, "We're excited to offer the convenience of beer and wine delivered to a customer's home." The new service will make its debut in Phoenix, Arizona with six-packs of Anheuser-Busch brands.

The beers available to choose from include Budweiser, Bud Light, Shock Top, and Kilt Lifter, which is offered by Arizona-based craft brewer Four Peaks. All six pack varieties will be a flat rate of $10.99. The company plans to roll out its wine delivery in January but some details are still being worked out.

Bourgeois didn't mention where the brand will be expanding the service too next, but wherever they choose to allow the service will almost certainly be a hit. There is nothing better than a fresh pizza with some tuscani pasta and a shock top to wash it down.

Pizza Hut has expanded to alcoholic beverages to expand sales after it's parent Yum! Brand has been on a tear with shares up 32% this year. Still, Pizza Hut isn't performing as well as some other fast food chains like Taco Bell or KFC and the new beverage delivery service is an effort to stay competitive.
