Police say that a semi tractor-trailer driver with a knife and a driver of a black Nissan armed with a gun were in a heated argument, that left the 31-year-old driver of the semi shot.
Florida Highway Patrol rushed to the scene after reports of gunfire, but the truck driver was already deceased upon arrival.
Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said, “We’re being told that the driver of the tractor-trailer was armed with a knife during the confrontation and that’s when the driver of the Nissan produced a firearm and shot the victim.”
Florida Highway Patrol FHP trooper Joe Sanchez said it's best to remain in your vehicle anytime there's apparent road rage to avoid these type of tragedies.
Avoid traffic confrontations as much as you can,” Sanchez said to the Sun Sentinel. “If somebody blows their horn at you, ignore it, continue. These incidents at times result in people getting injured and at times people even losing their lives.”
