#KatieSteinle - Americans On Social Media Outraged At Steinle Verdict

As my colleague Kyle James reported earlier, a verdict of not guilty was reached in the Kathryn Steinle shooting (on 1 July 1, 2015, illegal immigrant Mr Juan Francisco Sanchez opened fire on Pier 14 in the Embarcadero district in San Francisco, California, shooting 32-year-old Kathryn Steinle in the back).

Americans have reacted with great anger to this verdict, which they see as totally unfair. Leading the way as always was Hollywood actor and die-hard Trump supporter Mr James Woods, who tweeted: “#KateSteinle will leave an enduring legacy. The stunning depravity of her murderer’s acquittal will be a turning point in American history. The lines are drawn.”

He then ended with a direct demand to the current White House administration: “Build The Wall.”

Mr Woods wasn’t alone though, within 30 minutes of the news breaking, some 30,000 tweets with the hashtag #KatieSteinle were posted and it was immediately trending number one in the U.S.

Tucker Carlson, Fox presenter, also chimed in with his opinion stating that “the Kate Steinle case and verdict is a miscarriage of justice. There is no dispute that he picked up the gun and the gunshot killed Kate. No dispute he should not have been in the country.”

Lastly, there was also Ann Coulter, who, as always, blasted the judge and stated that this case should have never even gone to trial as it was clear from the beginning who the guilty party was, saying: “Killer Jose Ines Garcia Zarate had been deported FIVE times. San Fran sheriff had released him from jail despite a federal immigration detention request.”
