Investigators from the Middletown Police Department in Ohio say that they apprehended a brutal monster on Wednesday who was accused of harming an innocent animal.
Police say that 32-year-old Kevin L. Sullivan, of Middletown, now faces a fifth-degree felony animal cruelty charge after he was arrested for setting a cat on fire on Howard Avenue.
Law enforcement was called to the home after an emergency 911 caller told dispatch that Sullivan was witnessed pouring lighter fluid on the kitten m and then setting it on fire,
A Middletown Police Officer who responded to the scene said that he had to shoot the cat upon arrival to put it out of its misery.
“This is absolutely disturbing, and this guy definitely needs to be off the streets,” Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said in October when a warrant was issued for Sullivan’s arrest. “I have a room for him here in my jail, where he needs to be. I don’t understand people who harm or torture a defenseless animal. It is a very cowardly thing to do.
Sullivan is now being detained in the Middletown City Jail pending an arraignment in the Middletown Municipal Court on Friday, according to the<a href="http://www.journal-news.com/news/court-date-set-for-middletown-man-accused-setting-fire-cat/HQYHXwbG343XQvasphfq2N/"> Middletown Journal</a>.
Anyone who could commit this type of atrocity against an animal deserves the worst type of punishment allowed.
