A Gordonsville man and woman are both in a Tennessee hospital following two shootings in Smith County. Authorities with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation say the shootings occurred Saturday which included an officer-involved shooting and both currently being investigated.

The call first came into deputies from the Smith County Sheriff's Office after a woman was shot during a dispute with her husband. When TBI agents arrived they were confronted by the woman's husband and he was shot by police at that time. Both the woman and her husband were airlifted by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to be treated for their gunshot wounds.
The condition of the pair is not yet known but thankfully no law enforcement was injured. Authorities are still interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence at the scene. No charges have been filed yet but the investigation is active and ongoing.
