A home invasion in St. Charles, Montana Saturday night ended in the homeowner fatally shot the intruder. St. Charles city police department responded to an apartment complex at Fifth Street and San Juan Drive after a caller reported a home invasion.

St. Charles police discovered a male intruder was shot and killed by the resident of the apartment he tried to invade. Investigators are working to determine if the invader was related to the resident of the apartment or if drugs or alcohol were involved. Police say children were inside the home at the time of the invasion and shooting but none were harmed.
Lieutenant Chad Fisk of St. Charles police department says, "It's my understanding they may have heard some things. We would like to speak with them. Family members are taking care of the children at this time."
Due to the ongoing investigation, police have not yet released the identities of the family or the deceased and the children are currently being looked after by family members.

YUPDATE :
A white women is charged with Murder. It seems Drugs and $$$$ are at play. They knew the victim and it was his 2nd visit in just a few hours.
The 2nd time Ford showed up they let him in and shot him in the door way area.
Not a Home invasion.
Karen Reisinger, 31, was arrested Sunday morning for first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 26-year-old Carlton Ford.
