Kim Kardashian Tells Her Lawyer to Help Free Cyntoia Brown

Celebrity Kim Kardashian is going out of her way to help Cyntoia Brown, the victim of sex trafficking who was jailed for killing a man who picked her up for sex when she was only 16. Kardashian has asked her lawyer to help get Brown out of prison.

Brown was handed a life sentence in 2004 for fatally shooting Nashville real estate agent Johnny Allen. Brown was then being pimped by her violent boyfriend and she said she was forced to kill Allen because she was afraid he was going to hurt her.

At her trial, Brown said Allen showed her his gun collection and even told her that he was a sharpshooter in the army. Brown also told the court: “He grabbed me in-between my legs- he just grabbed it real hard. I’m thinking he’s going to hit me or do something like it.”

Brown recalled that Allen reached to the side of the bed and she really believed then that he was reaching for a gun. Brown feared for her life so before he could get his gun, she shot him with the handgun her boyfriend Kutthroat gave her before meeting Allen.

Kardashian has also taken to Twitter to express her support for Brown, and her frustration with the system. She posted the message: “The system has failed. It’s heartbreaking to see a young girl sex trafficked then when she has the courage to fight back is jailed for life! We have to do better & do what is right. I’ve called my attorneys yesterday to see what can be done to fix this.”

Brown is not the only woman Kardashian is helping out legally. The controversial celebrity has also asked her lawyer to assist in the case of Alice Johnson, a former Fed Ex worker who helped transfer messages for members of a cocaine ring sometime in the 1990s.

Johnson has served prison term for 21 years also on life sentence. She is now a 62-year-old grandmother.

Shawn Holley, Kardashian’s lawyer said Kim asked her several weeks back how she could possibly extend help to Johnson in her “fight for justice”. Holley added: “We then began corresponding with Alice and her team of lawyers.”

Holley also shared that since then Kardashian has also championed the cause of Brown and asked that Holley be involved in the effort to free her as well.

Holley is part of the team of lawyers who defended OJ Simpson, who was later found not guilty of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

Other celebrities have also expressed support for Brown including Rihanna, Cara Delevingne, LeBron James and Snoop Dogg as they have shared posts calling for Brown’s release.
