18-year-old Anna Chambers of Brooklyn, New York made headlines recently when she came forward to report a rape at the hands of two NYPD police officers while she was in custody.

The attorney representing Miss Chambers is Michal David and he says nine police officers tried to intimidate his client and her mother into dropping charges. The officers who threatened the pair are coworkers of the accused detectives, Richard Hall and Eddie Martins. In an interview with the New York Post, David recounted what the officers said.
"He kept saying to Anna and her mom, ‘How do you know they were real cops?'" he explained. "'Didn't you make complaints about cops before?" While at the hospital, another officer spoke in their native Russian language while he tried to cover his name and badge. "Anna said [the officer] was trying to manipulate a rubber band over his name tag, so she couldn’t see who it was," David added.
While the officer in the hospital tried to threaten Chambers and her mother, a nurse told said not to be intimidated. "Be strong. Be strong for your daughter," the nurse said. Chambers says she was raped by the two officers in their police vehicle while in handcuffs and they are currently charged with over 50 counts including first-degree rape, first-degree criminal sexual act, and second-degree kidnapping
Both of the detectives who Chambers says raped her resigned from the police force in November and are currently free on bail. Their attorney says he plans to add the aggressive officer at the hospital to the $50 million claim against the city and said, "I'm outraged. To me, it’s almost as outrageous as the crime, that you have cops trying to intimidate her to not report the crime, trying to protect fellow cops."
