“Voodoo Priest” in Florida Fatally Stabs a Dog 50 Times, Had Mutilated Animals in his Freezer

This is a very sad, and disturbing story with several graphic images. Caution is advised.

Authorities in Southern Florida say that a 31-year-old self-described “Voodoo Priest”, Brendan Evans, viciously stabbed an innocent pit bull over fifty times after beating and brutally assaulting the animal before stuffing him into a suitcase and leaving him for dead.

According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office in cooperation with the Hollywood, Florida Police Department, the suspect, Evans has a long criminal history and was already on probation at the time of the horrific murder of the dog.

The Goldwater first reported about the innocent dog, named “Ollie the pitbull”, back in October, where he was found inside of a suitcase stabbed over fifty times.

The outpouring of support for Ollie's treatment and cremation raised well over $100,000.

In Hollywood, Florida; animal rights groups, Veterinarians, and law enforcement are in complete shock at the horrors that were discovered involving severe trauma against a mixed pitbull puppy.

Law enforcement was called to the scene near an alley off Lee Street and 19th Avenue in Hollywood, where they said there was a blood-soaked suitcase that was moving.

Inside of the suitcase, they found the 2-year-old mixed pitbull that had been stabbed multiple times and left to die.

“He wasn't making any type of sound, it just moved once I stood the suitcase up and then that's when my girlfriend shined the light on the bottom of the suitcase and we saw a paw. I mean, it just shows me how terrible this world can be, how cruel people can be,” a witness said.

Unfortunately, though Ollie passed away despite the best efforts of Veterinarians to save him.

“We just couldn't stop crying. We weren't expecting it. Every doctor that we spoke to were under the impression he was gonna pull through," Jan Milbyer, Grateful Paws Pet Rescue.

For several months law enforcement agencies attempted to track down the person responsible for this heinous act, and they eventually were led to Evan's apartment in relation to the case.

Inside the residence, they found a terrifying scene.

Inside of Evan's freezer, they found several frozen and mutilated animals, including decapitated rats and severed paws of kittens.

Evans was already in jail on an unrelated charge, violating his 2016 probation sentence for a bank robbery in Hernando County.

After police searched his home, they then went to the jail to investigate their findings.

During that interrogation, he told police he practices “Afro Caribbean religions” and claimed to be a “voodoo priest” in an online post.

Authorities also said that they found several knives covered in blood, animal fur in several rooms, and an 18-inch machete inside of Evan's residence.

He has since been charged with a third-degree felony in Ollie's murder, the maximum allowed by Florida law.

He's currently being detained on a $100,000 cash bond as well.

“We will not tolerate any form of animal cruelty or violence in our city,” Police Chief Chris O'Brien said Wednesday. “Each reported case of animal cruelty, be it physical abuse or neglect, is disturbing, and this case is particularly heartbreaking.”

It's an unfortunate situation, but a major awakening to the public on just how disturbing your neighbors could be, while you have no idea it such horrors is occurring.
