Trump Curse? Anti-Trump Macy's Chain Suffers National Credit Card Outage on Black Friday

A national outrage has sparked after Macy's suffered from an outage in their credit card systems on one of the busiest shopping days of the year, Black Friday.

A Macy's Spokesman confirmed the issue saying, “It is taking longer than usual to process some credit and gift cards in our stores, but we had added additional associates to the floor who are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”

Outrage is flooding on social media with many customers complaining they waited for long periods of time in checkout lines only to be unable to cash out due to the outage.

The national chain of Macy's has already been hard hit by bankruptcy claims with multiple stores across the nation closing down in 2017, and the temporary outage on Black Friday isn't going to gain them any new customers.

Hey @Macys I stood in line at ur Evansville, IN location this am for about 30 minutes while u had a credit card issue. It's like hitting the bad jackpot…I had the same thing happen to me on black Friday a few years back in Ft wayne, IN at ur store! #frustrating
— Allison Ross (@aeross333) November 24, 2017

Multiple angry shoppers said they left their merchandise and walked out of the store due to the glitch.

Hey @Macys just left $300 of items on counter because your credit card machines are down at State St Chicago. Can't even look up Macy's account. What. A. Joke. #macys #blackfridayfail
— Meghan McCollough (@meghan_mcc) November 24, 2017

As of shortly after 5 PM Eastern Time Macy's announced that they had repaired their systems, but those crucial shopping rush hours are long since lost as well as the tarnish towards the reputation of the company.

It brings about the lack of preparedness for such a disaster during the busiest holiday shopping dates, and Black Friday accounts for many retailers overall year-end performance.

It also affected Macy's online sales while customers trying to place orders on Macy's website received the following message:

“We're unable to verify availability of some item(s) in your order. Place your order now, and we'll send you an email confirming availability and shipping when our system is back online, or please try again later.

This curse for Macy's comes after the retail giant dumped the Trump clothing line, as some would call it the “Trump Curse” happening yet again for those who defy the President of the United States of America with disrespect.

Tough luck, Macy's.
