Manhunt: Ohio Inmate Escapes After Assaulting Jail Staff

According to investigators, a “dangerous” Inmate has escaped from a Garfield Heights Jail.

Police say that 34-year-old Donnie J. Thomas was arrested late Thursday night and brought into the Garfield Heights Jail on charges of robbery.

At some point during the intake process he then physically assaulted a jail staff member and was able to overpower the employees and escape from the premises early Friday morning.

Thomas is described as being a black man around 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, and bald with brown eyes.

Thomas was at the time seen running eastbound on Oak Park Boulevard, wearing a white T-shirt, black jeans, and a light gray stocking cap.
