Video - ISIS Kills 235 In Egypt Mosque Bombing

ISIS has been blamed for a devastatingly deadly attack on an Egyptian mosque in the Sinai region, in the northeast of the country.

If first reports are to be believed, terrorists had first set off a bomb and then opened fire on everyone that tried to flee.

The current death count stands at 235, with more than 300 wounded, and is expected to rise in the coming hours.

The Egyptian army has been fighting with ISIS supporters in the region for three years now.

The attack targeted supporters of the security forces attending prayers there, two eyewitnesses and a security source said.

Other eyewitnesses at the Al Rawdah mosque in Bir al-Abed, which is near the city of Arish, told local media ambulances rushed to take the wounded to nearby hospitals.

Along with many western nations, Israel has already sent condolences to Egypt.

Mr Naftali Bennett, Israel's education minister, said after the attack that this "a time for international unity in the war on terror wherever it presents itself: Russia, Europe, the US, Israel and the Arab World — we have all been hurt by terror and must unite in our battle against it."

Meanwhile, Cairo’s international airport has boosted security following the attack, and various international flights are halted at this point. Passengers in the terminals are reporting that more troops are seen patrolling passenger halls, conducting searches and manning checkpoints at airport approaches.
