A fight erupted in the parking lot of Fayetteville's Cross Creek Mall leaving three people seriously wounded after they were shot early Thursday in the overnight fight. Police authorities have managed to identify the three individuals.

Reports unleashed by police revealed that Jamil R. McMillian, 24, was in serious condition while Rachelle N. Jones, 33, has been released. Both were treated at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. However, no information was immediately available for the third victim, identified as Trenton T. Powell.

The authorities revealed that two persons of interest have been taken into custody in connection to the shooting. A report released by Fayetteville on Thursday indicate that they were reviewing the footage as part of their investigation.

The Fayetteville police responded around midnight on Thursday to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after three people arrived there with gunshot wounds. The three were shot during an earlier fight in the mall's parking lot.

The authorities said the shooting was not random and the department has been working with the mall's owners to heighten security at the shopping center. Investigators revealed that a group of people arranged to meet in the parking lot after business hours, where the fight started.

Amidst the fight, one of the individuals pulled out a handgun and numerous shots were fired, police said. The authorities have asked anyone with information to call Detective J. Bisner with the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-676-2597.
