The United States Attorneys office says they've made an arrest of a pedophile from Idaho Springs.
According to Police, 57-year-old Thomas Wayne Anderson was originally charged in a string of vandalism at recreational sites that belonged to the Bureau of Management.
During the course of that investigation, once authorities received a search warrant to search the residence for any evidence, they then checked the hard drive of a computer belonging to Anderson.
To their shock, they located multiple videos of young children engaged in sex acts with adult pedophiles.
Anderson later admitted to Police that he had indeed indulged in the demented perversion of the child pornography along with multiple other pedophiles via video conferencing where they would entertain themselves.
Rather than plead not guilty, Anderson agreed to a plea bargain where he pleads guilty to intent to view child pornography, where he was sentenced to 84 months in prison and an additional 8 years of supervised release after his prison sentence.
As per the ruling by Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill, Anderson was also ordered to pay $1,340.75 in restitution and relinquish the laptop used in the crime.
Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the Bureau of Land Management investigated the case and issued the following press release:

”Anderson’s case was part of Project Safe Child. This nationwide initiative began in May 2006 by the Department of Justice as a way to fight the increasing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Project Safe Child is driven by the United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section. The goal of this project is located, apprehend and prosecute those who sexually exploit children and identify and rescue victims using federal, state and local resources.”
