I Have A Pen; I have A President

Without any doubt, this was certainly the strangest encounter on President Trump’s 12 day Tour of Asia, and could inspire the ‘Pineapple Pen’ singer to a great follow-up, with our (we claim copyright) winning chorus line of ‘I have a Pen, I have a President’.

Yes, dear readers, in one of the more entertaining 10 minutes of the US president’s tour of Asia, the 71 year-old President got to meet with the favorite singer of his grandchildren, Japanese Internet sensation Pikotaro, known for his "pen-pineapple-apple-pen" tune that went viral last year.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">President Trump and Prime Minister Abe ! It is an honor!<a href=";ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ppap</a> <a href=";ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#pikotaro</a> <a href=""></a></p>&mdash; ピコ太郎(PIKOTARO)(公式) (@pikotaro_ppap) <a href="">November 6, 2017</a></blockquote>

<script async src="" charset="utf-8"></script>

"President Trump and Prime Minister Abe ," Pikotaro, "It is an honour!"

Dressed in his signature leopard outfit, the singer had inspired Arabella Kushner, the six-year-old daughter of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, to her rendition of the tune when the President’s daughter posted this clip on Instagram.

Singer Pikotaro was chosen to perform at the state dinner because Prime Minister Abe had declared he wanted to keep the mood “upbeat”.

The hit song Pineapple Pen, containing only a few words is the shortest to ever reach number 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and also became the shortest single to chart on the US Billboard chart.

All together now: I have a Pen….
