A woman riding her bike was photographed flipping off President Trump's motorcade near a Trump golf resort on October 28 and the image has gone viral. The woman has been identified as Juli Briskman and her employers were not too happy about the photo.
Briskman alleges she was fired from her job at Akima LLC after sharing the image on her social media profiles. In an interview with media, Briskman says she informed the HR department at Akima LLC that she was the one in the photo and was called into a meeting the following day where she was told by executives the image violated their social media policies. Briskman shared the image on both her Twitter and Facebook accounts which the company deemed "lewd" or "obscene".
She defended herself to the executives by saying that the photo was not taken during work hours and she did not mention her employers anywhere on her social media. She also brought up the fact that a male colleague was allowed to keep his job after a similar incident because he deleted the offensive post.
Even though she lost her job, Briskman says she does not regret flipping off the President saying, "In some ways, I'm doing better than ever. I'm angry about where our country is right now. I am appalled. This was an opportunity for me to say something."
The press photographer who took the image is Mike Smialowski and he says he was shocked at the "tenacity" of Briskman who he said flipped off the motorcade several times and even tried catching up with it on her bike.
