The gunman who killed at least 26 people in the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs has now been identified as Mr Devin Patrick Kelley. Local law enforcement sources have confirmed his identity.
The 26-year-old man hails from San Antonio, and it appears he had relatives in the small town of Sutherland Springs where the massacre took place.
He lived in a suburb of San Antonio and so far does not appear to have links to any organized terrorist groups. He grew up in New Braunfels, in his parents’ nearly $1m home
According to his Linked in profile he served earlier in the US Air Force. There are reports that he was dishonorably discharged from the armed forces and even court-martialed that same year, but details are sketchy.
The Pentagon meanwhile confirmed that Mr Kelley had previously served in the Air Force. He served in logistics readiness at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico from 2010 until his discharge, she said.
Mr Kelley was sued for divorce in 2012 in New Mexico and remarried in 2014.
He was married at this time and it is believed he taught a Bible studies class at a certain point in time in Kingsville First Baptist Church.

The investigators claim he was dressed in all black and tactical gear when he opened fire at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs.
Mr Kelley, who recently showed off an AR-15 rifle on Facebook with the caption "bad b***h", reportedly fired outside the church before moving inside where he shot as many as 26 people of the congregation.
