There's a bizarre and disturbing case of a pedophile in Florida who claims to have used the powers of the Santeria religion in order to channel those spirits to help him in his quest to have sex with underage children.
The sickening individual, 56-year-old Sergio Carmona-Martinez of Bradenton, Florida followed the Afro-American religion of the Caribbean that later developed itself inside of the Spanish Empire before passing its culture into that of West African descendants.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said that in March of 2016 they first began their investigation into Carmona-Martinez when they received information that Carmona-Martinez was using the cultist religion known as Santeria in order to achieve his goals of having sex with young children.
Carmona-Martinez would allegedly channel the spirits of various entities followed in the Santeria religion, and he would then coax the girls into having sex with him by saying that they needed to do whatever the spirits told them to do or else they could be killed or anger the spirits into killing their families.
The first victim in the case said that she had sexual relations with Carmona-Martinez in the fall of 2013 for the first time when she was only 14 years old.
The girl claimed that Carmona-Martinez told her she had bad spirits following her and her family and the good spirit demanded she has sexual intercourse with him, to which after countless attempts to sway her he was successful.
At the time her boyfriend waited outside while when she went into the mobile home in the Christian Retreat Mobile Home Park where Carmona-Martinez lived because Carmona-Martinez had told her boyfriend that the bad spirit was uncontrollable and could kill him if he came inside.
The victim was then blindfolded by Carmona-Martinez, and he began to have sex with her in order to help exercise the demons from following her and her family (according to what he told the young child while manipulating her) so she could be free.
Once Carmona-Martinez finished his end of the sexual gratification, afterward, he then told the child that she had to have sex with her boyfriend while being watched in order to show the spirit that she was still in love with her boyfriend.
These are clear signs of just how demented Carmona-Martinez actually was, but it remains unclear how these young children were able to fall for this without putting up some sort of fight; albeit they did have minds of children which can be manipulated.
Instead, apparently, they actually believed the claims of bad spirits from the pedophile and the Santeria idea apparently had her fearing her family would die and that's how Carmona-Martinez was taking advantage of those fears to manipulate them.
According to the young girl she then later met with Carmona-Martinez on at least three other occasions where she repeatedly had sex with him but those sexual escapades occurred at a business called Simply Self Storage at the Simply Self Storage, 2100 U.S. 301 North in Palmetto, Florida.

Both the Judge and the Jury after hearing the tales had questioned what may have been wrong with this child to make such outlandish statements and even worse believing the nonsense, to begin with.
“I want to thank the victim for her bravery and courage in coming forward and reporting her abuse. The victim’s bravery should encourage anyone who may be suffering in silence,” Assistant State Attorney Brian Chambers said.
During the repeated encounters between the young child and Carmona-Martine which began when she was 14 and ended when she was 15 the last time, they had sexual relations.
“By coming forward, the victim made it possible for sheriff’s investigators to uncover and put a stop to the defendant’s manipulation and grooming behaviors. The jury’s verdict today will ensure that Carmona-Martinez will no longer be a threat to our community,” Chambers said.
After hours of deliberations, the Jury decided that the defendant Carmona-Martinez was found guilty of several charges which included five felony counts of sexual battery of a minor between the ages of 12 and 18.
Each of that charge could have been punishable by up to 30 years in prison each.
However, now it's been announced that Carmona-Martinez would be sentenced to a total of 75 years behind bars.
That's not the only case, however, as the deranged pedophile is set to go on trial yet again on November 13th, for the second victim which is 18 years old now.
In that case, Carmona-Martinez will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars for his crimes if convicted.
A bit more about the religion of Santeria below for those who are interested.
Santería does not use a central creed for its religious practices; though it is understood in terms of its rituals and ceremonies.
These rituals and ceremonies take place in what is known as a house-temple or casa de Santos (house of saints), also known as an ilé, in which most ilés exist only in the homes of the initiated priests and priestesses.
To become a Santero or Santera (Priest or Priestess of Santería), the initiator must go through an intensive week-long initiation process[7]:165 in which the teaching of the ritual skills and moral behavior occurs informally and nonverbally. To begin with, the initiator goes through what is called a cleansing ritual.
Yes, this guy's a sick and demented pedophile, and unfortunately, the young victim seems to be suffering from some sort of mental illness herself (unconfirmed) to have fallen for this.
