Elon Musk took to Twitter this weekend to share pictures from his "Hyperloop" tunnel beneath LA. He recently acquired the US federal governments permission to begin construction on a several mile long underground tunnel which he calls the "Hyperloop". Musk believes the underground tunnel is the solution to traffic in LA and will revolutionize commuting worldwide.

The tunnel will be used to ferry passengers along while inside their vehicles on a sled which travels 600 mph making the trip to places like Las Vegas from LA a mere matter of minutes. The tunnels construction is a painstaking process but new technology from The Boring Company may be able to get the job done much quicker than traditional drilling methods. The billionaire visionary first started talking about building tunnels last year but no one was quite sure of how serious he was until the pictures proved the dream is already underway toward becoming a reality.

Musk announced the tunnel is only 500 feet at this time but he hopes within three or four months that length should become 2 miles, and a year down the road he is hopeful it will reach the entire stretch of the Interstate 405 highway from LAX to 101. He stated previously The Boring Company's technology is capable of moving 14 times faster than traditional drilling methods.
When describing the tunnel Musk said there will be on and off ramps every mile or so and the tunnel would operate as a sort of super freeway whisking passengers and their vehicles to their destinations at roughly the speed of a commercial jet.
