Why Did This Idaho Mother Drive Off A Cliff Killing All Three Children?

The haunting story of how a mother of three in Idaho drove her SUV off a 50-foot cliff will leave you chilled. It was June 22, 2016 when a 40-year-old mother named Noel Bankhead drove her Land Rover off a cliff killing herself and all three children.

Police say Anika Voermans, Gwyneth Voermans, and Logan Voermans, all under 8-years-old, died in a murder-suicide perpetrated by Bankhead. The impact crushed the vehicles roof and it sunk 40 feet into the river below. Witnesses told investigators Bankhead had pulled off the highway, positioned the car towards the cliff and launched off in what seemed to be an intentional act.

When the Land Rover was investigated, there was nothing mechanically wrong with the vehicle. That combine with the lack of skid marks on the road leading to the cliff led investigators to rule it as an intentional act, but what no one knows is why?

Why would a seemingly normal mother who wasn't on any drugs or alcohol decide to do such a terrible act? Bankhead separated from her husband three years ago, could it have been some type of revenge against him? The children's deaths were ruled as drownings associated with blunt force trauma.
