Allegations against the drummer for the band Los Lonely Boys have surfaced amid the recent string of sexual harassment claims against public figures. A 13-year-old girl came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against Ringo Garza and for possession of child pornography.
The girl told Garza's wife on July 21 that she was face timing with him the day before when he asked her to expose her breasts, but when she did she heard the sound of a screenshot being taken. Garza's wife went to police with the information on July 22. An investigation by police into the relationship Garza and the girl shared revealed when the two would be on the phone talking he would become angry when she tried to go.
He provided the girl with an ultimatum, he would only be happy if she would expose her breasts. According to police reports, during a previous face time with the young girl when she was in the shower, Garza asked her to move the phone so he could see her body. The reports refer to his actions as "grooming", the term for when a sexual predator provides repeated attempts to get them to comply with their requests until they eventually wear down.
The victim told police that she had showered with Garza and his wife as well. The police acquired a search warrant for all electronics capable of storing pornographic images and if any are found Garza will be charged with child pornography.
Officer Tracy Gonzalez with San Angelo Police Department said, "I can confirm that in July, 2017, the San Angelo Police department was contacted and we did begin an investigation which is ongoing." At this point, Garza has not been arrested or charged.
