#StrangersThings2 - Actor Charlie Heaton Arrested At LAX

Mr Charlie Heaton, the 23-year old actor of smash hit series Stranger Things, which just started its second season in the US, was arrested at LAX when sniffer dogs found cocaine on him. Mr Heaton was thus denied entrance to the US. Quite embarrassing for Netflix of course, which wanted to make him the star of their second season launch party.

An anonymous source at LAX claimed: “He was not arrested. He was held at the airport for a while and then put back on a plane to London that night. If you are a foreign national and it is a large amount of drugs you may be charged. But if it is personal use, the consequences are that you will not be allowed in to the country. US law is very strict on this.”

Representatives for young Mr Heaton did not respond to requests for comment from British newspapers who are filling up with the reporting today.

The Yorkshire-born actor, who before this starred in series as DCI Banks and Casualty, plays the character of Jonathan Byers in the sci-fi show which became a global smash hit for Netflix.

The second series, which saw it’s US debut yesterday, takes place exactly one year after the first.

'They start out a year later, and they're totally sort of new people as a result of this experience that happened last year,' said Mr David Harbour, who plays the character of Jim Hopper in the series.

The US Customs and Border Protection did not want to confirm the identity of the actor, but did say: “Privacy concerns prevent us from discussing individual cases of travellers arriving at US ports of entry. Foreign nationals may be inadmissable due to the commission of a crime involving drug possession.”

This whole ordeal could spell trouble for Mr Heaton, who because of this bust could become inadmissible on US soil, and we don’t see Netflix moving the whole production to the UK just for him. The US Customs and Border Protection added that a “violation, conspiracy to violate or simply an attempt to violate” drugs laws would indeed “render a foreign national inadmissable to the United States”
