An Argentinian man accused of raping his own daughter for 20 years and fathering eight children with her has gone on trial.
Domingo Bulacio, 56, is accused of abusing her daughter for two decades starting when she was just 15 years old.
Bulacio was only arrested in January last year after his daughter had to make an emergency visit to the doctor to bring her youngest son when he became seriously ill.
She took that opportunity to report her father who happens to be her abuser. Her child then needed to stay in the local center for several weeks. She also revealed to the doctors that the boy’s father is her own father.
The father and daughter and their children all lived in a house with only one room. Bulacio’s abuses were so horrific that he even raped his daughter in front of their children.
Bulacio also escaped when the police first came to arrest him. He was on the run for 45 days before being captured in a rural area 30km south of the city of Loreto.
He was also made to undergo a DNA test to establish paternity. He was subsequently charged with sex crimes.
Local reports, however, have conflicting reports on the whereabouts of the victim’s mother. Columbia’s El Tiempo newspaper said she left the house and abandoned the daughter when the child was just 11 years old. Local reports sai she left because she was mistreated by Bulacio,
The largest newspaper in Argentina, Clarin, however, reported that Bulacio’s wife died , and that the the couple’s two other children went to live with relatives.
Six of the eight children Bulacio fathered with her daughter by abusing her are now living at Santiago del Estero City boarding school.
The case will continue.
