Joseph Oberhansley, age 36, from Indiana stabbed his girlfriend Tammy Jo Blanton to death before eating portions of her brain, lungs, and heart in 2011.
Blanton called the police claiming that Joseph was trying to get inside her home at 3 a.m. on Sept. 11th. The next morning, when officers visited her home again, they found Blanton’s bloodied body in a bathtub, and her skull was cut out.
Oberhansley has a criminal history. Fifteen years before Tammy Jo Blanton, he shot down his 17-year-old girlfriend. He shot his own mother in the back, fired at his sister. Just days before the killing, This 17-year-old girlfriend had given birth to Oberhansley’s child.
Clark County Circuit Court Judge Vicki Carmichael ordered the competency evaluations and deemed Oberhansley incompetent after hearing testimony from three doctors who evaluated him. "He is suspicious, paranoid, uncommunicative, and agitated," they wrote.
Clark County prosecutor said he still intends to bring the case to trial eventually.
