With more and more revelations being produced about the presidential campaign of former secretary of state Hillary Clinton tied into a fake dossier containing scandalous fabricated assumptions about current President Trump, it is no surprise to find that the mainstream press is now finally asking Mr Trump the correct questions.
When questioned about the matter, President Donald Trump answered that Democrats had paid for research to produce said document was a total ‘disgrace’.
“It’s just really, it’s a very sad commentary on politics in this country,” the President remarked “I think it’s very sad what they’ve done with this fake dossier. They paid a tremendous amount of money. And Hillary Clinton always denied it. The Democrats always denied it. But I think it’s a disgrace. It’s a very sad commentary on politics in this country.”
The President continued by saying that though the Democratic party had at first tried to deny any connection to the dossier, by now “they admitted it, and they’re embarrassed by it.”
According to public records of the Federal Election Commission, the Clinton campaign had paid well over $5.6 million to the law firm Perkins Coie, whilst recording those expenditures in their accounting statements as “legal services.”
Furthermore, the Democratic National Congress, at that time still headed by Ms Debbie Wassserman-Schultz, paid an additional $2.9 million to the said law firm, once again put on the accounting books as “legal and compliance consulting.”
Revelations also show that the compiling of the file against President Donald Trump started as soon as the Republican primaries kicked off in 2015.
The Democrats have off the record told the press that such opposition research is a standard feature of political campaigns in the US and it has been public knowledge for much of this year that the research that became the dossier was funded first by a still-unknown Republican and later by supporters of Clinton.
As we’ve told you earlier, former Clinton campaign spokesman Mr Brian Fallon admitted that Ms Hillary Clinton “may have known” about the dossier, however, “the degree of exactly what she knew is beyond my knowledge."
Things are starting to look rather bleak for the Clintons at this point.
As always, the story continues with more information being released every day. We here at the Goldwater will keep you updated.
