More Than 200,000 Children Were Married In The US Over The Last 15 Years

A little-known fact is that one of the world's superpowers still allows child marriage in all 50 states. Archaic American laws allow for minors to wed if they have their parents permission. There have been an estimated 200,000 children under 18 married in the United States in the last 15 years. Some of those children were even as young as 10 and 11-years-old.

Even in Afghanistan, there are harsher laws on child marriage than the United States. The law in Afghanistan allows girls to marry at 15 or 16 with their father's or a judges permission. A social experiment conducted in New York showed people's reactions to a child getting marrying and they were not standing for it. The closest a state has come to banning child marriage in the US is a bill in Virginia that passed to end marriages of children with the exception for emancipated minors as young as 16 so the pedophiles are still clinging on. Other states have continued to allow children to marry, in May the governor of New Jersey struck down a bid to make the practice illegal citing it would interfere with religious customs. New Hampshire also refused to raise the minimum age to marry to 18 citing concerns for pregnant teenagers who wanted to marry.

The practice of pedophilia is still alive and well in the establishment and it is even a protected right under the law as long as they meet the requirements of parental consent. Without the parent's legal consent that same person would be jailed and charged as a pedophile. It's time to end these archaic child slavery laws that are ruining these children's lives.
