Video: Australian Adventurists Fly Over Africa In 'Up' Inspired Balloons

‘Up’ was a great success for Pixar in 2009. The iconic image that will remain glued to your eye’s retina afterwards is that of a house being picked up by a bunch of balloons.

In Australia, a group of adventure enthusiasts with a taste for the extreme decided to use this imagery to raise money for children’s charities, including the Teenage Cancer Trust, Lotus Children’s Centre and Cool Earth, which we here at the Goldwater can only applaud.

The group gets paid for undertaking death-defying stunt allover the world, and their latest one, which you can see in the videos hereunder, puts the high-flying concept of Pixar's ‘Up’ to shame.

Whereas in Pixar you were still safely tucked away in a house, the group that calls themselves the Adventurists, have decided to do the same thing, in a garden chair being pulled up by colored helium balloons.

The group said: "At some point soon we'll let you know how you too can waft across the sky on a crap garden chair by taking part in the world's most ridiculous air race."

It looks beautiful, but it must be truly scary to be up there just in a chair. if you ask us.

Though the group has raised more than 8,5 million $ with this latest stunt, they had to admit to some major setbacks on this latest assignment including a broken-down helium truck, uncooperative weather and bursting balloons.

As you can see, they did manage to find success in the end and the stunning videos show their founder "Mr Tom" floating over Africa in one of the world's most colorful flying vehicles.

We can’t wait to see what they will come up with next.
