Bears Trying to Beat the Heat Intrude Into A Backyard Pool for a Refreshing Dip

Bears feeling the terrible heat on Saturday did what any human beings would have also done under the circumstances- go swimming to beat the hot weather. And that’s just what three fuzzy bear intruders did in southern California over the weekend.

The bears dove into a backyard pool. A brown mama bear and her adorable two cubs were even caught on video by a resident from Monrovia, California as they enjoy their dip in the pool. The resident was separated only by a pane of glass while the wild bears enjoy such a lovely time in the cool water.

The mother bear even came right up to the glass at one point as if considering to go further away from the pool, before deciding to join back her babies in the pool. The little cubs as caught on video are just like little children just learning to swim, and prefer to stay on the shallow part of the pool where they can hold on to the sides of the pool’s ground. The cubs are also captured playfully roughing it up.

It is not clear where the bears are staying, but the large bear possesses a yellow tag on her right ear. Such is an indication that she is tracked by the city’s wildlife officials.

It is also not clear how the bear family found themselves in the backyard pool, and who owns the swimming facility.

The city’s website gives the assurances that “animal control officers are equipped and trained to handle these and many other types of animals.”
