Police in Boise, Idaho sought a suspect for a rape that occurred Saturday morning but after evading capture the man shot himself.
It all started with a call to police to respond to an address near Compass Drive and Hill Road around 1:50 a.m. Saturday where they met the victim and she reported the rape. The woman was taken to a hospital and she told police she knew her assailant. When authorities finally spotted the suspect's vehicle and attempted a traffic stop around 4 a.m. the suspect fled. The police did not pursue the vehicle but found it a short while later.
The suspect was dead inside from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The authorities have not released the identity of the rapist but the Ada County coroner is expected to release the identity sometime in the next several days.
